Overview
Messenger Construction are looking for a Carpenter to join the team in Staffordshire.
DUTIES INCLUDE
- Discussing plans and following instructions
- Cutting and shaping timber for floorboards, doors, skirting boards and window frames etc.
- Making and fitting wooden structures like staircases, door frames, roof timbers and partition walls
- Making and assembling fitted and free standing furniture
- Installing kitchens, cupboards and shelving
- Building temporary wooden supports to hold setting concrete in place (shuttering)
- Making and fitting interiors in client buildings
- Comply with all health, safety, HR and environmental policies and procedures
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a Carpenter
- To be able to follow technical drawings and plans
- Maths skills to calculate quantities and angles
- The ability to pay close attention to detail and make accurate measurements
- Practical skills and the ability to follow safe working practices
- Customer care skills
- Proficient in using carpentry equipment
- Successful completion of a relevant carpentry qualification
- To work as part of a team
- To teach and mentor apprentices, as and when requested by the Company
